U18 International League Overview

The U18 International League for the 2023/24 season featured a competitive lineup of nine teams from various regions. This league is part of the ÖEHV (Austrian Ice Hockey Association) youth championships and is designed to foster high-level competition among young ice hockey talents.

  1. Akademija Rudi Hiti (ARH)
  2. Budapest Jegkorong Akademia (BJA)
  3. DVTK Jegesmedvek Jegkorong Sportakademia (DJA)
  4. Fehervar Hockey Academy 19 (FEHA19)
  5. EC-KAC (KAC)
  6. Okanagan Hockey Academy (OHA)
  7. EC Red Bull Salzburg (RBS)
  8. Ujpesti Jegkorong Akademia (UJA)
  9. Vasas SC (VAS)

League Format:

  • Phase 1: All nine teams play in a single division, engaging in two round-robin tournaments, resulting in each team playing 32 games.
  • Playoff Structure:
    • Playoff-Pick: The top 8 teams advance to the playoffs, where the top 3 teams can pick their opponents.
    • Placement-Playoff: Consists of 2 games played in a “CHL-Mode” format, where both games are hosted by the better-placed team.
    • Quarterfinals: Best-of-three series.
    • Semifinals & Finals: Best-of-five series.
